First we saw heron in a tree up high, looking for koi with his beady eye . . . .Then slowly stalking, cautious walking . . . .But slow and steady though he might be, the koi could from his reflection see the same thing we saw from the hill . . . . the heron with his piercing bill!
yup, they hide under the algae and around the autumn olive bush branches by the edges, it’s like they deliberately don’t eat *all* the algae just so they have hiding spots!
and by the way the red clover is up up and away around here finally, the bumble bees are so so happy, their legs all covered with their gatherings like stockings up high!
Smart koi – Hungry heron. 🙂
